KinderHaus offers a full-year German Immersion program that runs from mid-August through the end of July.

KinderHaus accepts applications throughout the year.  Completed applications submitted by February 1, 2017 will be considered for admission for Fall 2017.  Applications submitted after February 1, or students who are not initially accepted into the program, are placed on a waiting list for openings that may occur throughout the school year, or for admission during the following school year.

To the extent that there are openings during the current school year, KinderHaus will review the current wait list of eligible students to fill the space.

We are currently reviewing applications for students to enroll in our Spring 2017 semester. Children must be 2 years 9 months for enrollment.  If you are interested in joining KinderHaus now, please contact our Enrollment Director at enrollment@kinderhaussf.org.  Please fill out an application online (below) or contact us for more information. To be considered for enrollment, KinderHaus requires a completed application and an application fee of $55.

KinderHaus admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, fee and parent participation programs.

Please be aware that due to our small program, we have very limited spaces available each year. The selection of new students is at the school’s discretion. Preference is given to returning families and alumni. Students must be at least 2 years 9 months (2.9 years old) to be enrolled in the program.   In order to sustain our German Language Immersion program, KinderHaus makes every effort to provide a balanced classroom based on gender, age, familiarity with the German language, general fit and desired schedule.  Position on the wait list is considered, but does not guarantee a space.


  • Application forms for new and returning families are due February 1, 2017 for enrollment in Fall 2017
  • Contracts for siblings, returning students and/or children of alumni are sent out in March.
  • Contracts for new families are sent out in March and April.
  • Deadlines for returning a signed contract and deposit are two weeks from the date the contract is sent.

KinderHaus is a full-year program.  The school observes a two week break in December, a week break during the spring, and a break during the summer.  For a full list of holidays and closures, please see our school calendar available here.

Our monthly tuition is based on the number of sessions a child attends at the school. Our day program program runs from 8:30 am – 3 pm and our after care program runs from 3 pm – 5:30 pm. KinderHaus requires enrollment in a minimum of 3 days per week per child.

Families are responsible for full tuition for each and every month of the term, regardless of whether the child is absent due to illness or vacation, or if the school is closed for holidays.  Early departure from the program may result in a forfeiture of the student’s deposit.  Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the school.
